You gave me everything 1 asked for and more and all I can say is THANKS. It was a distinct pleasure to meet and work with all you fine people at Kanab and only because of press of business here at the SUNSET NEWS am I delayed in acknowledging the debt of gratitude I owe you. Away last January I accepted the dual role of pubicity director and Master of t Ceremonies at the big Annual from General Chairman LBTian Chris Jensen. My duties became an extreme thrill and pleasKatharine ure when yourself, Chamberlain, Jerry Davis, May-o- f Harman C. Steed and Dean and Harriet Vance entered into the so spirit of our Pow-woTHANKS again for everything. Both those taking part in putting on the show and our members from all parts of the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico agree that the week in Kanab r was the greatest gathering of Lone Scouts ever staged with the grandest program of to keep everyone excited and happy. Just now reports are starting to come in congratulating us on the series which LBTian Emerson wrote and you published in the SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS. Lack of space prevents us printing his reports, but you can be sure, as indicated in his letter, Kanab will receive a world of good publicity from the recent meeting of this fine group here. Opens U of U Year Dances, picnics, assemblies and sports afe on the agenda for new University of Utah students when they gather at the U. from September 21 to 26 for the school's annual Welcome Week. Activities will begin on Monday with the Presidents Convocation and Reception, where the new Utes will meet U. administrators and student body officers. Sehedulel for Tuesday are meetings with upper class "sponsors, general education orientation sessions. The Freshman Faculty Picnic Lunch, a Union Open House and Activity Carnival, a barbecue and the Welcome Week Mixer Dance. News: September Payson Youngster Yins Title For Most Freckles at Stats Fair Kanab Cowboys Lose First Gams Against Cedar City Here Last Friday Afternoon The Kanab Cowboys lost their first football game of the season to the bigger, more experienced Cedar City Redskins here last Friday afternoon, but in the meantime showed that they will be hard to beat by the smaller schools in the league. Final score of the game was 41 to 0 for the Redskins. Coach Louis Chatterley tried several combinations of his players and gave most of the players on the Cowboy squad a chance to get into the game.
