Kanab Youth Is Struck Down By Hit and Run Car old Elgla La Grow of Kanab is still in serious Fifteen-yea- r Jr. condition at the Kane County Hospital after being injured in accident on U.S. a Highway 259 just inside the east city limits. The youth was hit last Friday while on his way to work at near 4:45 a.m. He was found by his father, an employe at Glen Canyon damsite. Mr. La Grow told police that his son had left home about 4:30 and was walking to work at the Chamberlain Dairy. Kanab Police Chief, Ronald Bickmore, said that the youth was struck from behind and was thrown about 50 feet by the impact. Extensive search has been going on by City, County and State officers, but no arrests have been made yet. It was estimated the youth had been lying beside the road for more than an hour before being found. H. A. Dixon (R) Utah, by the Southern Utah News. The loan is for additional generating and transmission facila-tie- s to meet increasing electrical power demans in southern Utah and northern Arizona. The new improvements will include a new generating unit at Boulder Creek, 105 miles of new transmission lines and three large substations. It has been reported that 450 new consumers will be served by the proposed expansion program. Mr. and Mrs. Sherill Pugh and baby were Kanab visitors at the hpme of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Duff Pugh last week. They reside in Las Vegas. Kanab High School Hews Holes By Ramona Davis Well, we are back again after the first real vacation since It was a comparatively quiet week end, with only the groans of people who have eaten too much disturbing the peace. The Senior Hop which was on Thanksgiving day, was well attended. The Junior class booth won first prize for the best booth and didnt have, to pay the Seniors for the use of ft. The Alumni were all home so the dance was sort of a reunion for them. The Golden Nuggets played and the dance was enjoyed by everyone. Coming up this Friday is our basketball game with Escalante and it will be the first game of the season, the next game on .the calendar is the Saturday game with Piute. We would really appreciate it if the townspeople attended these games being that they are the first and our new team needs all the support it can get. There will be a F.HA. meeting Thursday, and a speaker will be there. Any girl still wanting to join will be welcome.
