These pests lust love to bask on the sunny side of our homes. They dont seem to be content to stay outdoors either. Usually- - if we dont have box elder trees in our vicinity we will rarely be bothered with box elder bugs. Winter is a good time to get rid of undesired boxelder trees. If you are among those that are bothered by these red and black pests you can take heart for they are difficult to kill, they can be destroyed by liberal application of 5 DDT in kerosene or by using one pint of 75 chlordane emulsiflable concentrate in each 2 gallons of water Thoroughly wet the bugs with whichever spray you use. A chlordane dust around the base of the walls and under leaves where they congregate will also that just help. Remember this wishing they are dead or that they would feo away rarely gets rid of them. Good boxelder bug hunting to you! The Agricultural railroad car will be at Cedar City on Feb. 26. The subject, Cutting Costs to Increase Profits will be discuss ed by Leon Michaelson, Farm Management Specialist. Those of you desiring to attend the ses sion that starts at 1:30p.m. please contact me.
