WAYNE ROSE was I once heard an advertisement which went something like this, "Farmers and home gardners should be made aware of our new product called Erunam for building up the soil. Erunam will help make heavy soils light and light soils heavy." Those who use Erunam usually experience an increase in crop yields." If you heard this advertisement wouldnt you be Interested in this Erunam? All that they claimed for it in the ad was true, Erunam spelled backwards is. of course, manure. Actually the way you handle your manure determines the value of it. Fall is the time for farmers to take measures to prevent undue losses in manure. If manure is piled under the eves of the bam or shed much of the plant food is washed away Nitrogen readily escapes into the air and is lost from manure left lying in the fields or piled loosly. The best way is to use plenty of litter in your sheds and add more as it is needed. The labor of piling it is escaped and the animals keep It t romped down and you save much of the valuable liquid portion of the manure. Just haul it out of the sheds In the spring. The following practices will help to reduce manure losses: 1. Provide plenty of dry litter to soak up liquid portion of manure. 2. If litter is used under livestock sheds let the manure build up under the shed. The liquid will keep the material moist and the animals will compact it. 3. Pile in large piles and keep manure moist and compact to prevent fermentation and burn- Fre-doni-a Kanab Ekssnlary Sehsal Ksns Events As Photographer Fred S. Accidents are more likely to happen when children are not supervised on the playground and the school Insurance covers only injuries which occur during school hours. Remember the doors open at 8:45 in the morning and 12:45 at noon. There is no supervision on the playground before these hours so chances of inluries are greater. Also, the safety patrol is not on duty. The Fifth grade is having some exciting soft ball games. Mrs. Von Hake seems to enjoy acting as umpire. We, the Fifth Grade, are working hard this week learning how to follow instructions for class assignments. We feel this is very important in our future education.
