There was a fairly hard wind blowing as it sometimes does in Glendale, and Mr. Anson Call, Extension horticulturist from the Utah State Agrlculural College remarked that we would be lucky to get any raise in temperature at all. Smudging is used by orchard-lst- s to raise the icmperature at the critical blossom.tlme to keep their. fruit from freezing. Often a whole fruit crop is saved by raising the temperature from one to two degrees. We used some regular smudge pots which cost 55c in California and we also used some one gallon cans setting 3 of them to a tree. We burned used crank case oil which Heaton's Garage kindly furnished for us. In spite of IN THE SIXTH JUDICIAL DISTRICT COURT OF THE STATE OF UTAH.
