" Inward Journey" is an exhibit by Randi Wagner that opens in the large gallery today, while an exhibit of bronze pieces and watercolor by L ' Deane Trueblood is on display in the small gallery. There is an opening reception honoring the artists tonight from 7-9 p.m . in the gallery. According to Valerie Kid rick, curator of the gallery, both of the artists will be there. Wagner, who is currently living and working in Salt Lake City, studied with Don Doxxey at Westminster College. After graduation, she concentrated on watercolor landscapes, gradually moving towards an abstract style. "My grandfather had an extensive collection of rocks and minerals that I remember poring over as a child, " Wagner said. "I was very close to my grandfather, and I' m certain the deep feelings southcrrn Utah unleashed in me had something to do with a myriad of childhood memories." Trueblood, who lives in Bloomington, studied art at the University of Oklahoma. Trueblood works primarily in bronze and watercolor. She was one of 70 sculptors in Utah to be honored in the Utah Sculptor 's Exhibition in 1983, and was invited to exhibit at the Women Artists of Utah Exhibit at the Springville Museum in 1984. The exhibits will be on display through March 27 . BUSY B. Two SUU students won regional awards at the American College Theatre Festival, and one of them has been selected to participate in the national competition this April . Jared B. Leese and Karen Kellison , senior theatre students, were honored with the Kate Drain Lawson Award in Theatrical Design . Leese won in the area of costume design and Kellison in make· up design. The regional award is given to six students each year who show exceptional promise in the design and technical fields of theatre. Concert Sunday The SUU Concert Choir and OPUS will present a winter quarter concert Sunday at 4 p.m. and agai~ at 7:30 p.m . in Thorley Recital Hall. Bart Shanklin, assistant professor of music, will direct the groups in a program that includes Renaissance motets by Palestrina and Josquin des P res. The concert also includes a group of early American hymns and folk tunes and "Serenade to Music," written b y Ralph Vaughn Williams. Admission for the concert is $3 for adults.
