Stowell said the turnout wasn't great, so Raye chose Cedar City this time. He was last at SUU for the Celebration of a i Century in 1997. Stowell said country concerts usually sell better than any other genre of music. If they don't sell out completely, they are usually close to maximum capacity (about 4,000 seats). Mindy Benson, director of student activities, said alternative/rock concerts like last semester’s Fuel concert usually aren’t as successful, so country is coming back because the community usually supports those concerts. Benson said Raye has a lot of crossover hits and covers Journey, Kansas and Beach Boys songs that will appeal to a ‘wider audience. “Students are going to be surprised at what a raucous show this will be,” she said. “It’s just a fun activity and something to. do. “March will be boring without spring break.” P Tickets are currently available at the Centrum Box Office.
