The information for the same period this year show usage has dropped to 18 million gallon , aving close to one-fourth of la t year's total. Th avings is a r ult of a new computer-aided prinkler system called Maxicom. Th niversity borrowed $75,000 from the state energy office two yea.rs ago to purchase the equipm nt to run the system. 1be grounds crew, electricians and others then saved another $75,000 by installing the system themselves. It has taken nearly rwo years to make the sy c, m fully operational because there was so much labor involved.
