The Boulder Bras / a collaboration of the country's foremost professional in the bra genre of music , iS the ultimate brass en emble and performs in the RandaU Jones Theatre on the UU campus, July 22. This group is different. It i fun . And it is a bras music lover's dream , oozing with a toni hing taJent and impeccable taste. The name of the group is , probably by accidem , a double·entendre. ·'Boulder" indicates the heart within the regional western nited tates from which the group is based-Boulder, Colo. Yet, "The Boulder Bras " is al o "bolder." Bolder Baroque and bolder pop. And, it's bolder in how it translate n:iusical score . In fact , the British Bandsman publication wrote about TI1e Boulder Brass: "Rather off of our normal beat, (their ver ion of) Baroque and Renais ,m~e m usic come as a refre hing change ."' For instanee, the Journal of the International Horn Sodety concedes that The Boulder Brass cenainly offers a "" different version of Ro ky Mountain High." The Boulder' brilliant orchestr.1.tlon were com manded for a performance atop Vail Mountain for President Gerald Ford and The World Affair Forum. And the group continues as an artist-in·resideoce at the First Presbyterian Church of Boulder. The attraction to The Boulder Brass is its versatility and sh redding of borders.
