Three bills were passed and all were amended to lower amounts than originally requested. The first item of old business was Bill No. 025-01 , requesting money to feed employers at the Career Fair and was defeated 0-13-1 . Sen. Jennifer Powell of the College of Performing and Visual Arts, was on the investigating committee and said, ·our funds should go to students.· Bill No. 029-01 originally requested $1 ,665 be allocated to the Student Support Services so it can provide tutors during the summer semester. The senate agreed to help fund six hours of Moring per day during the summer semester. The bill was amended to $815 and passed 11-3-0. Bill No. 030-01 requesting $875 for The Academy to travel to Salt Lake City, was amended to $335 and passed 13-1-0. Clubs and Organizations gave The Academy $350, and the number of hotel rooms originally requested was cut by half. Bill No. 031-01 requesting $1 ,455.26 to send six technical theatre majors to a conference in California was amended to $1 ,095.26 and passed 13-1-0. Investigation committee members said the students should fund more costs out of their own pockets. The last item of old business was resolution No. 007-01 stating that funding for Mors should be provided by the admin stration. not the senate, passed 15-0-0. The first item of new business was BIii No. 032-01 , titled "Light in Motion.· It requests $750 be allocated to the Southern Utah Disability Support Center to assist in funding Disability Week, April 913. The bill's sponsors are College of Science senator n mette Wankier and College of Education senator Brianna Baumgartner. Bill No. 033-01 , titled "Let's Rock,· requested $520 be allocated to help send four geology students to an academic conference in Albuquerque, N.M., April 30-May 2. The bill's sponsors are College of Science senators Ryan Bell, Kayce Hatch, and Wankler. Bill No. 034-01 , titled "Psychology Conference,• requested $345 be allocated to help send 23 psychology majors to a professional conference in Reno, Nev., April 19-22. The bill's sponsors are College of Humanities and Social Sciences senators Marilyn Hodson, Jessi Allen, and Camille Bell. Bill No. 035-01 , titled "High Noon with PVA or Lunch Recess,• requested $550 be allocated to the College of Performing and Visual Arts for PVA Focus Days, April 10-12. The bill's sponsors are College of Performing and Visual Arts senators Powell, Amanda Matthews, and Kyle Vincent Bill No. 036-01 , titled "Help CHANGE the World." requested $2,000 be allocated to the dub CHANGE, lo help fund its service project in Kenya.
