Corry was selected by a university committee which conducted a full search to name a full-time, pem1ancnt coach. .Corry assumed the position last June on a one.year contract and guided the team to a 22·24 record in 1998, the school's best mark since moving to NCAA Division I competition in 1990. "We had a number of excellent candidates apply for the job, but based o n his success last year and the confidence we have in him, we decided DeLynn was the right man for the job," SUU Director of Athletics Jack Bishop said. "He did a great job as ati interim coach and look forward to seeing him have even more success now that he has the 'interim' removed from his title.· "This is a dream come true for me," Corry said. "We worked very hard last year and basically had to put our family lives on hold to see what would happen [with the pennanent position), but that's paid off now. I'm grateful for the chance to coach this team and glad the university has faith in me.
