Show THE CAMPUS Graduation deadlines approach Students planning to graduate from SUU this spring are beginning to face their first commencement deadlines. Worksheets outlining graduation requirements completed and those to be finished during the upcoming spring quarter are due at the Registrar's Office by March 2. Those forms are now available there. Since t hey require the signatures of advisers, department chairs, and the student's college dean, prospective graduates are encouraged to start immediat ely to complete the form. "We strongly suggest that the forms be submitted to the appropriate people as early as possible," Sheila Johnson, assistant registrar, said. "Once a student has the worksheet signed by the dean of his or her college, it is to be returned to the registrar's office by March 2. Of course, we will accept completed sheets as soon as they can be finished. 11 A $10 diploma fee and a $16 gown rental fee ($22 for master's degree candidates) are also due March 2. These fees may be paid at the cashier's office in the Sharwan Smith Center. A cap and gown fitting is also to be completed before Maren 2. The SUU Alumni OHice provides this service in t he Alumni House located at 290 West Center Street. "Students who have received student loans are required to participate in an exit interview with the student loan collection manager," Johnson said. 11 Appointments can be arranged by calling 586-7728. " 'Off-hours' business degree to be offered Completing all major requirements for a business management degree at SUU by taking only evening school and early morning classes will be possible beginning with the fall semester. Once a student has completed the general education and prerequisite courses, the remainder of his or her business major requirements may be completed through offerings in the division of continuing education, according to John Groesbeck, chair of the SUU department of business. "People who have partially completed a degree, and people who will not be able to attend the university during regular working hours may find the extensive continuing education offerings especially valuable, Groesbeck said. "We are recommending that anyone interested in taking advantage of these classes obtain early academic counseling to see where he or she stands." Counseling for those working toward a business degree is available through Paula Alger, business department adviser at 865-8157. Immediate steps such as completing application procedures, fulfilling general education requirements, taking necessary business major prerequisite classes, and completing pre-business core courses will speed the acquisition of the major through continuing education, according to Groesbeck. 11 There's only one love in your life ...
