It's a lot of fun, too! The fournal is a paper which needs students to survive and to succeed. Beginning Thursday, Sept. 12, the 13th an nual SUU Newspaper Workshop Week can help you get started on the paper. Workshops will include Introduction to t he f ournal and Introduction to the Macintosh System, for if you don't know how the paper operares Jnd you don't know how our Macs function, there's not much you can tlo here. All of the work5hop , from sport writi ng to photography and from feature writing to layout, will be geared tO aid ing you in pc rfo1ming your job and providi ng some of the basics you'll need along th e educational road tO your career. As you receive yo ur first assign ments and begin to work on t hem, you 'll have plenty of fu n, food, soft drin ks, and re laxat ion, and chances to get to know your fellow students . We'll be throwing in som e tips here and there on how to get along well wit h people under stressful condit ions. For chose w ho migh t be concerned abou t lodging during workshop week, the fournal has made arrangem ents with the office of resident living to provide ea rl y dorm rooms for staff members tO stay in for th at week. If yo u're planning to move into campus housing anyway, you can do it a week early. There's no cost tO students for these extra days. If you'll be living off campus, we can help you w it h t hat, too. All students atten di ng the workshop wi ll receive free meals through SUV food services. The cafeteria will be open fo r your use and several special staff meals are plan ned as well. So give us a call and we'll rush more information to you! Learn to use the Library!
