Show SUTV to telecast live D.C. meeting By JIM ROBINSON CAMPUS F.D!TOR A broadcast of Utah Senator Bob Benn tt's Electronic Town Hall meeting from Wa hington D .C ., will be carried live by Southern Utah Univer ity's SUTV channel 9 tomorrow from 7-8 p.m. "Senator Be11nett will be di cu sing a number of i ues of interest locally in Utah,'' Leanne Kozak, faculty adviser to the university television station, explained. "The broadca t will be intera tive in ome areas of the stat e, including Weber and Utah counti , but not here. For tho e with the interactive feature, the teleca twill allow a give-and-take discussion with the senator." Included among the anticipate.cl topic during the meeting are Medicare legislation, welfare reform, highway funding, wildeme , and public lands issues. "This type of programming is va luable to the commW1ity, and it provides good training for our tudent broadcast stalf," Kozak said. "Our other live telecasts, locally produced, include a local 30-minute news show each Monday, Tuesday, and Thur day; 'Fireside Chats with President Sherratt;' 'Conversations,' one-on-one interviews with a variety of interc ting persons; and 'Coach's Corner/ interviews with in-season coaches th roughout the year." SUTV also broadcasts SUU Con voca tlons pres en ta tions weekly, and programs of particular campus interest. "We are open to suggestions from the community about anything we can do to improve our programming," Kozak aid. Regular programming includes "Classic Arts Showcase," a cries of short video vignettes featuring such elements as classical music, dance, Wm, opera, and art. "Classic Arts Showcase" is shown 24 hours per day, except when SUTV is presenting its own locally produced shows.
