Hohbs pitched two innings. Hunt pitched two, Abeyta pitched one inning and Vernon played two innings in left field. The Skyview coach apparently used the trip as a training ground to train his troops for next year's high school season. and Clearfield s Robbie Richeson (44) teamed 20-Saturday at Rice Stadium in Salt All-Star- s 7 team trounced 1 1 ROY H- Vh h; ) i y-V- 4 V h I Tj ' 'f kyQ i r ' V" a. He assured me that Richeson would see varsity action this year. He was pretty high on his new recruit. The Deseret News MVP, Jim McMahon beat out the Tribunes MVP Jeff Hucko for the quarterback starting assignment, and proved his worth. Jim threw two, touchdown passes, and set up a field goal, which Hucko booted from 47 yards out, to lead his Utah Stars to a 20-- 0 shut out over Arizona. Jim played slightly more than half of the game, and hit 6 of 15 passes for 88 yards. The Arizona quarterback is a from Scottsdale, named Greg Brady. Brady played the high school entire game, and hit 14 of 41 passes for 170 yards, with three interceptions. McMahon was the better passer. He hit .400 percent of his passes against .341 for Brady, and had no interceptions. Two of McMahons passes went for T.D.s. Brady seemed to have better pass protection, than did McMahon. The Arizona line gave their man more time to get his passes off. McMahon spent the night scrambling for his life and passing on the dead run. In all fairness to Arizona, I learned in the press box that 15 of their number declined to make the trip. One of the missing was a lad from Tuscon, who was Arizona's back of the year. That had to hurt the visitors from Cactus Country, but then Arizonas population is double that of the Bee Hive state. Trapping regulation announced The Utah Wildlife Board has approved regulations for the 1977-7furbearer trapping season.
