Show Sun Chronicle Thursday, June 19, 1973 Clearfield Courier has been here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs The Wallace Braithwaite, Don McNee and Ronald Opp Families spent several days at Flaming Gorge on an outing last week. They really hit the jackpot when Mrs Braithwaite caught a lO'G lb German Brown, Mr. McNee a 4 lb. Makinaw and Doug Braithwaite a 3 lb Makin. w They were fishing from a boat in the Antelope Flat area Gary and Janet Sorenson have a new son born on June 10. Roy V. Mikesell, 74, who died on June 10 at his home in Ogden was the brother of Mrs Gladys Conklin. He is survived by his widow, the former Dorothy Wade and five sons, 22 grandchildren and two Funeral services on Friday in Ogden with Bishop Delbert Thompson officiating Internment in the Ogden City Cemetery. G Mr. and Mrs. H Hammon and Mr. and Mrs. S L. Sly were among about 25 guests at a family buffet dinner on Thursday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sorensen at their home on Wildcat Drive in Ogden Guests of honor were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lee and their children Linda and Susan of Champaign, 111. Both Mr. Lee and Mrs. Sorensen, children of the late Merlin Lee and Rose Lee Johnson, lived in Roy attending the Weber County schools while they were growing up. Mr. Lee received his doctorate from the University of Utah and is a professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana. Mr. and Mrs. David Ashdown and their daughter Jeni visited here on Fathers Day with the Cliff Spendloves and the Larry Ashdowns their parents. They live in Idaho Falls. Larene was Wallace hospitalized on Friday for observation and treatment. She had open heart surgery about three years ago. Visitors at the Robert Young home on Fathers day were their daughter, Nadine and two of her friends from Salt Lake City, Don Graves and Vicki Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Jennings and their three children are visiting with Mrs. Jenmngs father, Merrill Hall. Coming here from Lompac, Calif they plan on making their home in this area. Mr. and Mrs. Rodger Hansen of Syracuse and Mrs. Rodney Anderson of Richmond were dinner guests of the girls parents Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Sly on Fathers Day. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Iverson and Mr. Iversons father who is living at the Iverson home spent Fathers Day with a daughters family in Brigham City, the Leon Blacks. Ned Shelley is home from the following hospital surgery. The parents of Kenneth and Gordon Rock, Mr. and Mrs. T. Russell Rock of Peterson will be honored with an open house on Saturday commemorating their 50 years of marriage It will be held at the Peterson LDS Ward Cultural Hall from 4 until 7 p m. There will be a program at 7 p.m. They were married on June 17, 1925 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and have resided in Peterson for the past 33 years. Both are active in the LDS Church. On Saturday they were among dinner guests along Mrs. with Dunaways parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Anderson of Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Osmer Knight had as dinner guests on Fathers Day their daughters and families, the Dee Jay Hammons of Brigham City and the Floyd Wilcoxs of Syracuse. Blair McClean a former Sunset resident who has just returned from an LDS mission to Argentina visited in Sunset with friends on Sunday. Blair is the son of Lanny and the late Sharon McClean The Nevin Bassett family spent Fathers day in Ogden at a family picnic in honor of Mrs. Bassetts father, Joseph Todd. Isabelle Riggs of Montgomery, Alabama visited with the Thomas Lightfoots last week. She is district Primary mission president in the Montgomery area.
