Arlene Miller will serve as the new Sunset intake SUNSET FIRST service leader. Mr. and Mrs. George Reid were honored with a farwell on testimonial Sunday evening. They will leave Nov. 1 on a mission for the church In the Buffalo, New York AAREA. Following the testimonial an open house was held at the Reid home for relatives and friends, All five of their sons came home for the event, Dick who lives in Bountiful, Don from Roy, Steve from Colorado, Stan from American Fork and Paul who is presently bishop of the Sunset 5th ward. All the grandchildren were there except three who are on missions. There are 29 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren. SUNSET SECOND The Relief Society fall season begins on Oct 9 with the lessons schedules about the same as they were last year. SUNSET THIRD Allan Reid was sustained secretary of the Arromc Priesthood. Relief Society on Wed- nesday will be for the purpose of honoring the ward visiting teachers. There will be a luncheon and hopefully a talk from Bishop Ashdown. The Fall Social was on Sept. 25. Naples was sustained a teacher, the son of Thelma Cox. Roger Archibald was sustained a teacher, the son of Ron and the late June Archibald. The Relief Society Fall Social will be on Oct. 2. There will be a luncheon, a program and preview of this seasons lessons. Blame Olses was sustained teacher and venturer leader. Mary Pugsley was released as Mia Maid advisor, sustained as young women in Semi-annu- Hansen as Mothers Eduacation leader in Relief Yvonne Cole Society, sustained. SUNSET FIFTH Kevin Cutlert was sustained a Priest, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Odeli Cutler. classes. Relief Society Fail social will be on Oct. 1. There will be a preview of the coining seasons activities. Margaret Schroader has Eva YPYWM1A, Giles released. Marino Ganz has been sustained a High Priest. SUNSET SEVENTH Scott Stanford was released as secretary of the APYM-MI- Arthur Bishop sustained. Ross Toomer was sustained as Cubniaster. Johnson was Junior Sunday School orgamxt. Christy Stephens was released as a Junior Sunday School teacher, secretary of the ward choir and Young adult Representative of the Ward. Christy will attend Weber State this year,' living on Campus. Bowcutt was Sally sustained a Junior Sunday School Teacher. Husbands are invited to the Relief Society Fail Social on Friday Sept. ZT.There will he a dinner and introduction to this seasons lessons by class leaders. LDS al conference planned The big 144th semi annual General Conference of the Latter-daSaints Church will be held Oct. 4, 5, and 6, at which time thousands of members are expected to gather at the historic Temple y Square for services and meetings. President Spencer W. Kimball, world leader of the more than 3,000,000 member church, will preside and be assisted by many other church general authonties. Also, the conference sessions will be carried hy 350 radio and television stations throughout the world to counselor President Kimball, Elder N Eldon Tanner, and second First counselor Marion G. Rom ney. will speak. A special Mormon priesthood session will be carried by a closed circuit radio and television to hundreds of locations around the world where members of the Mormon chi irch will gather to receive messages of Mormon leaders A musical feature of the conference will be the singing of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for four of the general conferences.
