It turns out that a lady had recently moved to Roy from a country location and left her dog home when she went into Ogden. Upon returning, she found her long-timpet had left through an open door. She figured that with the new surroundings, the pet wouldnt be able to find its way home. After hours of waiting, the lady called the police depaitment in an effort to get hold of the animal control department, but she was told that it was after duty hours, and she would have to wait until tomorrow to get her pet which had indeed been r- - J- A A - $m0m- ROY Ten beauLful young women have entered the Miss Roy Pageant scheduled for this Saturday (Aug 24) at 8 p m. in the Roy High School auditorium. j KIM ARLINGTON Kim Allington, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Benjamin VV. Allingtcn, 5208 S. 2375 W, graduated from Roy H'gh with a 3.75 grade point average, and she is a member of the National Honor Society and Rodeo Club. She hopes to attend Weber .State College and major in home living She is an avid horseback riding fan and lists the piano and e rf. 24-ho- sewing as her talents. fij f'i Ck Being so relieved that her dog had been found, she demanded to see it right away, and a call to Ben Reeves resulted in him coming on duty after hours to give the lady her animal. Further investigation shows that Ben had found the dog earlier in the day and had gone attempting to find the owner. The letter lauded Ben for his extra efforts, and we wish to add our praise to Ben and his work. She has been active in sports and dramatics while attending Roy High. She plans to continue her education at Weber State College. Last Wednesday, members of the board decided to go ahead and let out bids for the first phase of construction on the $3 million dollar project. The decision came after several delays, which had slowed the project several times, were finally cleared up. It took a trip to Denver, Colo., by one of the projects engineers to get the final nitmatters straightened out with the picking Bureau of Reclamation. The bids, estimated by the engineer to be around $1 million for construction of pressurized pipelines north of 4600 S., will be opened Sept. 11 and then the long wait for that construction to start and finally be completed will begin. Actions of the subdistrict had a lot of people wondering if the project w'as moving forward, but now the irual construction will prove that things are indeed underway. t r"l imt. She was a cheerleader in high school for three years, and was also the Junior Prom Queen. She lists skiing and sewing as her major interests TOM LUNT Toni Lunt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Max Lunt, 2389 V 4800 S , says she hopes to go into the secretarial field after having worked for Goodyear the past year. She, like the rest of the girls, comes from Roy High, and she has been active in Future Teachers of America and all sports ARLENE KESSLER Arlene Ressler, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs Peter J.
