Yes, the Sun Chronicle did publish special sections on a history from that era, but little else other than a birthday party honored the significant year of 1973. In other towns celebrations there have been parades, week long festivals, beard growing contests, and other activities. I once witnessed a town that celebrated its centennial with a summer of parades, contests, and fairs to make everybody forget their cares and remember the past. A centennial is one of the biggest events tha t a town, city, state, or country should have. It looks like Roy passed this one by, and their next chance wont come until 2073.
