Annually the LEA chooses a school band to play at the opening general session. This year they have chosen T.H. Bell Junior High stage band. The Utah CowBelles, an auxiliary of the Utah Cattlehave mens Association, stories twnety-nin- e permanently preserved in the archives of the Utah Historical Society. They are contained in a leather, hand carved scrapbook, complete with photographs. Volume II is being made, and eight stories are ready to be placed in it. We have already received story number I for 1972! So, please sit down today -- dont put it off! Get your pencil and jot down those memories of your or mother, or of yourself; whether it be two paragraphs or the top limit of 1500 words. . ,we want you and your family included in this valuable recorded journal. The National CowBelles organization are carrying on this contest, and the state winner will compete at national level. On state level, these stories received are judged by Historical Society Director Dr. Melvin T. Smith, and a panel selected by Dr. Smith. The deadline has been ex tended to Oct. 21, 1972.
