Eiders take to hills Elders of the LDS Church Prescott, Ariz., have literally taken to motorcycles in an effort to involve prospective Elders in the Prescott Ward Quorum, reports Ben Gill, quorum president. Occasionally Mormon Bishop Kenneth Joseph Bond dons a motorcycle helmet and enjoys a ride with the elders. I think it is a fine fellowship idea -- - one that helps involve the men who in the past haventbeenactive, says in Bishop Bond. Elder Gill says that sevof his prospective Elders had been riding their motorcycle on Sunday mornings instead of attending church. So we decided to show them that they can have just as much fun riding on Saturdays as they can on Sundays, he said.. Now members of the church meet on Saturday morning and take to the trails in Prescott National Forest - and then go to church on Sundays. Youd be surprised at the number of Elders who have purchased motorcycles so they ride with us on Saturdays. REMEMBER, your vote is important. Peggy Stephens of Ogden wants everyone in this area to vote in the upcoming election. Utah citizens should be sure they are registered, too, so theyll be eligi- ble to cast their important ballot. If youre going away, you can request an absentee ballot. eral -- dhuerdu on by Glen Perrins Finishing touches are being completed on Salt Lake Citys new high the skyscraper - the General Office Building -- Latter-da- y ry Saint of Church near Mormon Temple Square, which will be dedicated in OctIt is 490.6 feet high, ober. the tallest building in the state, reports George Cannon Young, prominent Salt Lake architect who designed the towering structure.
