Mr. Speirs is married to ,the former Marian Watson and is the father of three children, Steven, 11, Sally, 9, and Paul, 3. A local man, he is the son of Mrs. Denia Speirs and the : late Alvin M. Speirs. A graduate of Davis High School, Mr. Speirs attended Weber State College and received his degree in accounting from the University of Utah. He has been in business for himself as a plumbing con- tractor for 11 years. Active in civic affairs and church responsibilities, he has '' t 1 u vs Hod served as treasurer of the Progressive Peoples Party and active in the County Among his church activities, he has served as secretary of the YMMIA and as clerk in the 4th and 5th wards, as counselor in the 5th ward and is presently serving on the high council. This brochure gives tips to parents on how to instill the desire to read in their children. It also gives a suggested booklist for young children. Mr. Jones was born April 1951, in Ogden. He was employed as a technician at Hill Air Force Base. During World War II he served with the Navy. He was reared in Shelley, Idaho, and attended Shelley High School and college in California. He had lived in Clearfield the past 15 years. He was a coach in senior, league baseball in Clearfield for five years, and was a member of the Hill Golf r rr-y- k . . N. .Cv.V -- v. Also surviving are four brothers and four sisters, Lew Jones, Mrs. Glen (June) Simpson, both of Shelley, Idaho; Donald Jones, Santa Clara, Calif.; Francis Jones, Aptos, Calif.; Larry Jones, Artesian, N.M.; Mrs. Donald (Grace) Park, Blackfoot, Ida.; Mrs. John (Louise) Sherru., Ogden; Mrs. Kent (Peggy) Brooks, Roy.
