It was a great tournament and it is hopeJ that all will be ready to enter the Regional tournament tonight for the Juniors and tomorrow night for the Seniors. There will be a 50C entrance fee. It is being held at the Lake View Cultural Hall in Hooper at 7 p.m. Lake View names tourney winners Last Friday night the ahe View Stake Ping Pong Tournament was held at the Cultural hall. Mrs. Shiramizu will attend and participate in the business sessions of the International Conwention to be held in Salt 14-1- to attend Lake, Utah, at the Hotel Utah, on Mrs. George Skor-neJuly President, from Portland, Oregon, will preside at the scheduled activities. An attendance is expected of 1,500 members and guests. Dr. Robert G. Menninger, M.D., noted psychiatrist and Director of the Menninger Foundation at Topeka, Kansas, will be one of the guest speakers. Many training sessions on Ideas in Dimension are scheduled, socials planned and presentations will be made of annual service awards. During 1970 there were 446,127 passenger cars registered throughout Utah, this represented an increase of 117,933 or 36 from the 1960 passenger registration total of 328,194. Utahs population rose by approximately 19 during this same period. Weber County reported the registration of 56,005 passenger cars in 1970, compared with 42,144 in 1960. There is also some indication that the number of multi-ca- r families may be growing. In 1960 there were 137 passenger cars for every 1 no households in Weber County. By 1960 this figure had risen to 150 passenger cars per 100 households. The Foundation report notes that the most dramatic gains in vehicle registrations during the 1960s occurred in recreation-type vehicles. Motorcycle registrations throughout Utah for example, increased more than eightfold between 1960 and 1970. In 1960 there were only 3,383 motorcycles registered in the state. By 1970 the number nad grown to 28,194 an increase of 733 during the period. Small trucks (the type often used for recreational purposes) also more than doubled over the past ten years. In 1960 there were 47,774 trucks with a gross weight of 6,000 pounds or less registered in the state. In 1970 a total of 96,906 trucks of this type were registered in Utah. Following is a summary of the vehicle registrations recorded for Weber County in i960 and 1970 by type of vehicle: Passenger cars 1960, 42,144; 1970, 56,005; motorcycles 1960, 324; 1970, 3,782; small trucks (less than 6,000 pounds 1960, 4,948; 1970, 11,165; all other 1960, gross weight) 7,707; 1970, 8,579.
