This alternative was dismissed because-- - while the structure is a grand old building, there was no unusual church history connected with it to support preservation on this basis, i e., it does not fall into classification of the Mormon Beehive House, Liberty Jail, etc. It has been further suggested that the tabernacle is unique and to demolish it would be to lose a part of our architectural heritage. After the Assembly Hall on Temple Square was erected, its plan was used in construction of the Summit Stake Tabernacle in Coalville. Hence, we have concluded that there is no significant loss of architectural heritage. Having expanded several years in the above feasibility studies, it was determined that a new Federal Women Calvary alternative dered was whether or not the property could be used as a museum: Reasons against use of the facility as a visitors center were equally valid with respect to use as a museum, and costs incident to use as a museum, and costs incident to remodeling the building for either of these purposes and maintaining the facility were unreasonable.
