The Kiwanis expressed a desire to work with the Jaycees in future community development projects. Chapter msnbers and their families recently attended a club social at Willard Bay. An enjoyable weekend was had by all. Norm Panzer and his wife, Betty, are the newest members of the chapter. His first project was the construction of a baseball score- is Sunset Jay-C-ett- es The Sunset Jaycees and recently attended the August quarterly board meeting at Smith-fiel- Jay-C-ett- Those from Sunset attending were Mr. and Mrs. Tim May, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Sow orb y, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gay and Leon Hoimer. The days business consisted of mental health and mental retardation seminars, information on conducting meetings, scrapbook discussion, guest speaker at the luncheon was National Vice President of the U.S. Jaycees, PaulHoug-hlan- d from Indiana. A state social was held that evening. The Sunset Jaycees and just returned after their second annual Bear Lake family outing. Camp- Jay-C-ett- ing out, swimming, water skiing and a great time was enjoyed by all. The were asked by Utah State Jaycee President Frank Tremea to help put together the Utah Jaycee state directory. In an effort to learn the problems of the community and to increase their governmental affairs knowledge, members of the chapter are attending city council meetings. A board of directois meeting is scheduled at the home of Bill Williams, Aug. 27. as required . Approximately 150 boys will participate in the football program. Junior bowling League sets Winter leagues are now forming for junior bowlers, ages 8 years old at e Lanes in Roy. Four leagues will be formed according to age divisions and ability. Bone of Clearfield, has been awarded the Combat Action Ribbon while serving with the Third Battalion, Seventh Marine Regiment, First Marine Division in Vietnam. To receive the award a man must have been directly endangered by enemy fire or explosives. However, it does not require active combat under fire. Although a resident of Ogden is has been very active in the business development and civic activities of Roy Mr Stuart says the most important part of his life is his membership in the Roy Lions and his customers from his Roy barbershop. He is also serving as first vice president of the Roy Lions and monthly visits the Weber Memorial Hospital to present corsages and birthday greetings to the patients. He is also a monber of the Roy Elks Lodge. Active in the Roy Lions he was recently awarded the Master Key Award for signing twelve members. This is a very hard award to earn as the person must be responsible for the signing of twelve new members who remain members for at least one year. He graduated from Shelley, Idaho High School and attended Weber State College. Mr. Stuart has always worked in the barbering profession.
