There are many blessings derived from working for the Lord and it is hoped that ward members will respond to these calls. Ward members were happy to see Bishop Bott back again. He has been back east for a week on TDY for Hill Field. While there he visited the world's fair in New York and said he- - was particularly Impressed with the Mormon Pavilion there. Twenty-si- x scouts, parents and camping trip last weekend in the mountains near Logan. They searched and found the marked grave of Old Eprhium, the infamous bear who roamed those hills year ago. Jack Thomas, a counselor in the bishopric spent several days in the hospital recently for observation. We hope that the cause of his trouble will be discovered and that he will soon be feeling well again, EIGHTH WARD Lyle Karras was approved to be ordained a Priest last Sunday. The Karras family has now moved into the Third Ward but this will be taken care of here. The family will certainly be missed in the ward. Approved to be ordained a Teacher in the Aaronic Priesthood was Eddie Coon. We have several new families whose membership records were read on Sunday. Mr. and M r s. Garth Streeper and two children were welcomed into the ward. Mrs. Streeper will be secretary in the Primary. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Call and their two children Gary and Jeff, were approved to become members of the ward as were Dr. and Mrs. Neil Karren and their son Douglas. NINTH WARD Be sure to circle Sept. 30 on your calendar and save that morning for the Relief Society opening social. An outstanding book reviewer has been secured to give the entertainment and luncheon will be served. Plan to join the sisters there at 10 a.m. for this social. Relief Society will be held each Wednesday of the week thereafter. Membership records were read and approved for Doris Rose Child and her five children. They were welcomed into the ward. The scout committee expressed thanks to all who supported and helped withHbe car washing project last Saturday. Our next temple day will be on October 5 and all with recommends are urged to try and attend the temple on that day. Speakers Sunday evening were Jack and Ada Hazen and both gave the talks.
