Show I a rag two THE SUN CHRONICLE, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 1963 -- 0Hfie SEiuttig PhiQosplueg F Cottle By R. 198. TIIE ONENESS OF . MANKIND This column is impelled most especially at this time to turn the attention ef thinking people to the possibility and the necessity to practice the Onenesa of Mankind. The golden rule is the conversation piece in the meaning of oneness. .It can draw together in untiy the sons of men of all races and classes. The oneness implied in the golden rule is the only an gwer for the salvation of a great upset and suffering world.. Philosophers have dreamed of and written about Do unto others as you would have them do unto you for centuries. Holy books have expounded it for ages. World peace can be achieved only when men become united in stead of divided, diverse and discordant. When we all learn to liva by the Golden Rule, (which directs us) to oneness we will attain peace in our hearts. Humans like horses, cannot kick back and destroy and go forward at the same time. Sometimes even a notion abolishes The Golden Rule and Its Oneness and respect from other nations are nulified. The application of the Golden Rule is Just like a closed or an open hand . . Just as a closed hand cannot receive another ....insincere golden rule cannot be shared honestly with another. When rulers, diplomats and citizens thoughts and actions are guided by the Golden Rule and not a single one breaks the rule, the ONENESS OF MANKIND will become a reality. . Historical Roy 1st Ward To Hold Gold-Gree- Not Of historical interest also was the burning of the old post office at 2425 W. 5600 So. which was built by Postmaster Velma Burnett. After the post office was moved to Arsenal Villa in 1945, the little frame building was transported to 3500 W. There an addition to it was made to convert it into a four room frame house- - It was occupied from then on until July 17, 1959 when a cigarette left smouldering on a couch burst into flame during the night and set the house afire. The family of 10 who were living there all escaped with their lives although the rickety old dried out building went up in smoke in only a matter of minutes. The town of Roy took the homeless family to heart and along with cooperation from Hill Air Force Base, another place to live, new clothing and furniture were provided for the hapless family. As that page of history closed, a new chapter in the history of the Roy post office was taking shape, for at that time, plans were near completion on the brand new post office building to be erected at 1950 W. 5700 S. which was three times as large as the bne in use, incorporating architecur-a- l with the design, the very newest in post office equipment. ultra-mode- BINGHAM'S in at Ball n The Roy First ward MIA will hold its Gold and Green Ball in the ward recreation hall on Saturday Feb. 23, at 8.30 pm.
