Mrs. Russelletta Sharp fust heard from her grandson, Fred Prescott and his wife in SpokAne, Wash., and they just had a new baby boy. This makes 12 greatgrandchildren for Mrs. Sharp. And last week she had another pleasant surprise, her sister Mrs. Laura ShiithSon, from Woodruff, Aril, cahle for a short visit. With her were Mrs. Sharps neice and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Strong. artd his GEORGE CUMMINGS wife, have a new baby girl. This makes grandma and grandpa for the first time cf Mr. and Mrs. Scott Cummings. Many of you know that George is n the Navy and stationed in San Diego, Calif. More news of former Uintahites. Peter Fernelius, olaest son Jerry just finished his mission in Mexico, and was recentlyl married in the Los Angeles Temple. But whats been happening around here? Almost everything from swimming pools to ... . well you name it. IVY AND JACK Keyes started digging on their new swimming pool the first part of last week. From what Ive been told, some of the cement has already been poured, and from what I expect, theres going to be a lot of fun up the Keyes way this summer. Each boy nd girl selects a country for study ind with the use of encyclopedias and other reference books, builds a report book for presentation before the class. Mountains, valleys, eaports and rivers are built up vith a flour and salt mixture on a ilece of plywood measuring 1)4 x 2 feet. Coloring of map it accord-nto sealevel or elevation, green lowest, orange next and brown highest. The name of the country is at top of map and is painted. This map making project is creating favorable learning situation and creats mere interest Mr. Archibald lives in Sunset and has taught here two years. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Smith were host and hostess to the Lions Club March 2, at their home where they held their meeting and Kent show-:- J his movie film of Hawaii. The .vives or partners were invited and refreshments were served. All present had a very enjoyable evening. MRS. JEAN Burson has returned home after a five day visit with her sister, Janet, who passed away Sunday after Jean arrived home Saturday morning. Janet had sometime with cancer. The scouts got a pretty good surprise last Tuesday night. When they got down to their house for activities,- the leaders told them they had to run around before they could come in and when th eboys got back, they were plenty pleased to find hot dog? buns, chip sticks ard the whole works layed out, waiting for the weiners to be roasted and the stuff to be consumed. Of course, knowing scouts, that little matter was easily taken care to. PHIL AND Myrtle Peterson enjoyed a visit from their son Jerry and. his wife Nedra for the weekend. Jerry is a student at Utah State University. And during the week, they were in Morgan helping their son DeOrr celebrate his birthday at a dinner for 11 cf the family. It is the hopes of the bui'ding fund committee that this will be accomplished before Jure. On the 20th of this month, they hope a big bite will be taken out of the sum by a building fund dinner which Is going to cost $15 a famJy. There will be lots of good food, and it will be served at the school house. Mrs. Ellen Stoker, chairman of the dinner, said that if you couldnt come to the dinner, put your money in an envelope and send it anyway. If we will just get united, $5,000 shouldnt be much of a task to gather up with as many people as we have in our ward now. Lets accomplish this feat, and get going. What do you say? The Relief Society is going to hold its anniversary party next Wednesday at 12 noon. Lunch will be served at that time, and the literature lesson will be given at 1 p.m. All the ladies of the ward are invited to come 'JUST ABOUT FORGOT to tell jou about the party the Elders had last Saturday night. A county wide project of candj and cake sale was sponsored Wednesday, March 4, by the PTA, also, to raise money for the exceptional childrens school to be built in Farmington. This sale lock place at Sunset Elementary as at other county schools, during school hours.
