Show 1 The Ihunday January SUHSETNEWS ti r c a C 1 1 A very wonderful snappy Christmas program was given by the 3rd grades of Miss Carol Stokes and Mrs. Wilma Weinstock at Sunset ithai(dfews07bornRossOTh iird.etak'i Elementary School Tuesday, Dec. 23rd. They presented it to the other grades of the school in the morning and to the parents at 2 p.m. Refreshments were s&rved to their parents, and the two classes. Later Santa came and gave each student a treat and (he boys and girls I gifts. Tuesday evening, Dec. 23rd, the Sunset Ward Sunday School held their annual ward Christmas party. Santa came and gave everyone a s ick of candy and nuts, after which, the MIA held a dance to complete the evenings entertainment. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Elmer of California are visiting at the Lloyd Case home for the holidays. The Sunset Ward choir cantata was presented to the Sunset Second Ward Sunday, Dec. 28. It was so beautifully given en the r own ward that Bishop Nicholas asked them to give it on their program in the Second Ward. Elder Delbert Kay, son cf Mr. and Mrs. Loren Kay, is doing very well in the church, now in the service of Uncle Sam. It is reported that Delbert was taking charge of an LDS meeting in Texas when A B Hal Porter went to church recently down there. We are proud of our servicemen and the missionary work they do while in the serv- T, 195? The Elders Quorum of Sunset Second Ward are sponsoring a missionary fund driving party Friday night, Jan. 2.,The ladies are to fix lunch boxes tb be auctioned off. There will be a magician and lots of fun i:f store for you. Hendrick . Brandenburg arrived home Monday, Dec. 22 for a 13 day furlough. With the first of the year, a change of meetings is scheduled for Sunset Wards. Sunset Wdrd will have Priesthood meeting at 8 a.m., Sunday School at 9:15 a.m. and Sacrament meeting at 4 p.m. . Sunset Second will have priesthood meeting at 8:45 a.m. with Sunday School at 11 a.m. and Sacrament meeting at 7:30 p.m. and Sunset Third Ward meetings will be at 5:45 p.m. with Sunday School still at the school house until they get the new building. Bellas Aimes Club held their iChristfas dinner party with their ' husbands at Mas and Pas Saturday night, Dec. 27, then they enjoyed the dance at the stake house and after the dance, a light lunch at and Mrs. Arnold Youngberg. j Mr. High Priests gave the program in the Sunset Ward Sacrament meeting Sunday Dec. 28, with for- mer Bishop Rex Wallgrcn conducting. The theme was given very beautifully in keeping with the season, the teachings and ways of Christ. LeRoy Stettler was speaker at the fireside meeting held at the Dawson home after meeting. Joselyn Wiberg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Scott Wiberg, was out of school a week prior to the holidays, with chicken pox and she was still ill for Christmas. Santa didnt miss her, though. She received her gifts like other children because she had been a very good girl. A few papers have been sent to Sunset people now living in Idaho, und reports have been received of how much they appreciate having received this newsy paper. We can help our area by giving news items to the reporters and b taking out a subscription to the paper. It is a really reasonable rate for a home paper. Resolve to subscribe U it this new year. Mr. and Mrs. Henry E. G williams of Sacramento, Calil., weie week end Sunset visitors. Mr. Gwilliams mother passed away last w"ck and they came up to attend the services Saturday. They visited Sun-daSchool and everyone was indeep glad to see the Gwillia's as they were former residents and very active in the ward. Their son, Dee, was with them.
