The Explorer group had quite an adventure last week. They left very early Friday morning (if I remember it was about 1 am.) Drove up toAlice Lake in Wyoming for some fishing and camped out Friday night returning Saturday night about 10 p.m The trip turned out to be a bit more rugged than they bargained for. They got quite a nice lot of fish (and they were delicious). The boys were accompanied by Darrell Dalton, Charles Dalton and Bishop Orlin Oleson. The boys who went were Jah Montgomery, Gary Youngberg, Richard Craythorne, Edward Sawley. Bryce Garner, Blaine Edwards, Glenn Oleson, Larren Flint, Ronnie Flint, Fred Fisher. Other places visited by the Ramp-ton- s were the islands of the group which Ruth had visited when on her mission. Her father the late 0. H. Bybee also served on a mis sion to the Hawiian Islands. Ruth had the privilege of pisiting old friends of hers and her fathers They visited the Ilawiisn temple and were very pleased with the new road that led from the ocean straight to the temple. Formerly the road was a winding one and sometimes people would have difficulty finding the way. They also visited the famous Wiakkil beach and saw the surf riders go out and ride in on the tide. They also saw Pearl Harbor where the ships Utah and Ariona are still buried in the harbor. Pipes have been sunken to show where each end of the ships are. A flag flies over each. At first there was several attempts to raise bodies from the Arizona and it was so hazardous and so many lives were lost in the attempt that it was decided to make the site pertnanment burying place. There were 1200 nun lost on the Arizona as the bomb went down the smoke stack and the ship sunk almost immediately.
