Mr. Forsythes Barbie images are disturbing because the Barbie Doll is fashioned in the likeness and image of a woman. His blatant abuse of that likeness and image demonstrates a profound hostility toward women. My wife cherishes her collection of Barbie Dolls. As a little girl, like many little girls, she played with her dolls and fantasized about the adult woman she would someday become. Mr. Forsythe clearly knows how to use dolls to facilitate his fantasies, too. In Malted Barbie, we observe a hapless Barbie, trapped in a helpless and vulnerable position, her bare legs sticking up in the air. She is being malted by a long, slender, hard, rotating object. We do not need Mr. Freud to explain the message conveyed. Jesus explanation is cogent. The Southern Utah News (ISSN No. 0049-165is published every at N. Main 26 Utah 84741 .
