Show THE ROY SUN HOOPER NEWS By KYLE IIARROP The people of Hooper are to be commended for their talent and achievement in represting the people of Weber County at the state fair. As usual Weber Countys exhibit at the fari was one of the most outstanding and beautiful exhibits. For several years, Mr. Ed. J. Ted) Parker has won recogniation for his artistic displays for this county (Thanks again Ted.) Last Thursday a group of young Hooperites, representing ber County at the Farm Bur-DaTalk and Talent meet were televast on the program. They were, Kathleen Giles and Dennis Read who competed in the junior talent find. And Alton and LaMar Cook and Audrey Parker who competed in the senior talent division. Lu Jaun Bybee also of Hooper and Ronald Smaart of Slater-villcompeted for Weber County in the talk meet. In the finals of the talent meet Alton and LaMar won fourth place and Lu Jaun Bybee won third place in the talk meet. Clair Manning, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Manning of Hooper, was awarded a registered Jersey calf for being the outstanding Club member at the Utah State Fair. The calf is from the outstanding Jersey herd at the Utah State Agricutlural College. Judging for this award was based on completeness of record books and projects. The Manning youth, who has been exhibiting dairy animals at Ogden City dairy days for several years, said he has been working toward winning the calf for three seasons. y e 4-- H The following Hooperites won the Class A championship of the Weber County Womens Soft-bal- l League after a rugged play off.
