Show Loretta Cline receives di s tinguishe d service award Long-tiSouthern Utah State College supporter Loretta Cline, Salt Lake City, will be honored June 1 with the college's Distinguished Service Award. The award will be presented, SUSC President Gerald R. Sherratt Indicates, at combined baccalaureate vocational commencement exercises scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. .on the upper campus quadrangle. Playwright Ernest Thompson will give the baccalaureate address In the outdoor ceremonies, and Dana Scott Karren, San Jose, California, will represent the SUSC School of Business and Technology as presenter of the Outstanding Student Address. "The college's 1983-8- 4 Distlng uished Service Awards are being presented on the basis of the quality and longevity of support these individuals hanve shown in their association with SUSC, President Sherratt said. Mrs. Cline served as a member of the college's board of trustees and Institutional council for 16 years, and Coach Petty taught here In the physical education department for 28 years. Mrs. Cline is a graduate of Mil- - ed toward approval of the Milford Valley Memorial Hospital and was elected to two terms on the State Board of Educaton while living In Beaver County. Mrs. Cline moved to Salt Lake City in 1963 and has since served as president of the National Council of Jewish Women, as a member of the Salt Lake chapter of the United Nations and as chairwoman of the Salt Lake County UNICEF Program. Mrs. Cline sold real estate for 16 years and has the distinction of being an original member of the SUSC Institutional Council from its inception in 1969 until she stepped down from the governing board in 1983. She was a member of the colleges board of trustees from 1967 to 1969. The SUSC award recipient is an active member of the Salt Lake Ladies Literary Club and of a Wasatch Front garden arts club. 4-- ford High School and attended both Dixie College and Utah State University.
