A trio of second place winners were named In puppet show competition: Margaret Probert and Sharon Koyle from Millard High School and two teams from Fredonia High School, Janet and Janette Davis and Marlene Cox and Sissy Pulliam. The third place winner in puppet show competition was Hurricane Ing the school Homo Ec competition ' 4 oners - Students from Valley and Wayne County high schools won sweep -stakes awards today in puppet show competition and cake baking in home economics competition at Southern Utah State College. Over 200 students from Wayne, Panguitch, Parowan, Escalante, Delta, Beaver, Cedar, Millard, Milford, Fredonia, Hurricane, Piute, Richfield and Valley high schools visited the SUSC campus for vocational day activities. A fashion show and workshop on color coordination, quilting, make-u- p and hair design were held In addition to te contests in cake baking and puppet show presentations. Following the Kanab women were North Sevier with 82 points, Beaver with 78, Valley with 76, Enterprise with 51 and Panguitch with 32. His new mark In the long jump was 22 feet 1 34 inches. In the high jump he set a new mark at 6 feet 8 Inches. His third record was set in the 400 meter race when he finished in 51.36 seconds. Valley coed Kerllyn Heaton set new marks in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5 minutes 51.83 seconds and in the 3200 meter run with a time of 12 minutes 55.31 seconds. The other record was set by Tracy Shurtliff in the trials of the womens 300 meter hurdles with a time of 47.61. She won the finals with a time of 49.55.
