And, thats how it should be. For some children and their parents it requires much more preparation and effort than for others. And this is doubly so if the childs father is going to be the one to do the baptism. Such was the case recently at my house. It was a very special occasion and I was very proud of my husband as he baptized our daughter. I know how hard it was for him to become able to baptize her. I, on the other hand, had very little to do with the whole ceremony. In fact, about all I had to do was get dressed and show up. Now that doesnt sound too difficult does it even for me. However, at this point Im sure I will remember the occasion longer than anybody else in the family will. You see, after all these years (I wont mention how many) of never being in a cast, (for any reason) as a result of a fall I took that night, thats exactly where I now find myself. Lying in a hospital bed with a cast from ankle to thigh. But today does bring good news, along with some bad. Hopefully, Ill get to go home today. Unfortunately, the cast Is going with me. As a matter of fact Ive been informed that the cast is going to be my companion for at least a couple of weeks. Actually, its going to stick with me like glue. Oh well, I wont get lonely. Now although Ill be glad to get home to my own family, I would like to say that my stay in the hospital hasnt been too bad. (and thats quite a statement coming from someone who is terrified of I must doctors and hospitals). admit that I do not make a good hospital patient, and for that I apologize to the medical staff. Second, if you swing your cast leg youre likely to hit your good leg. Then youd be sporting two casts instead of one. WEDNESDAY, April 4 . Most people learn all the ramifications of having a cast at a much earlier age in life than I have had and to. Its quite an experience one I could easily have done without. Having a cast presents a number of other problems too. For example, rolling over in bed is rather difficult and something most people take for granted. However, with a cast on your leg its quite another It really hurts to roll matter. over and smack your other leg against the cast. And another thing that cast is really cold. And how in the world "THE REASON DIDN'T COME TO YOU IN THE FIRST PLACE DOCTOR, IS I BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID YOU1 ME NOT TO DO WHAT does one go about scratching a leg underneath a cast. I could continue, but Im sure by now even those who have never had a cast get some idea of the predicaments one can find oneself in the moment a cast is put on. Oh well, enough moaning and groaning. I realize Im not the only one who has ever gone through I DID! D -- Cheerleader tryouts were held today in the old gym.
