Show Books to Task Force Read Approves Projects by Barbara Smith Beth James, Chairman of the Crime and Delinquency Task the Racism often minorities indignities that suffer, the subtle humiliations that are devastating to one's self is day-to-da- y Force, reported on the November 7 meeting of this group. For a child to be a victim of racism and not understand how to deal with it is a painful and traumatic experience that might in the future turn into hatred and revenge, or develop into a hard core inferiority complex. Compiled below is a list of authors that deal with racism and minority problems in their story and picture books and novels. They very sensitivley offer solutions and explanations to questions that parents sometimes don't know the answer. So, one evening last Miss Olevia she publicly demonstrated her singing month, repertoire, assisted by a chorus of scrubbed, enthusiastic Fifth graders from Riverside School. Miss Tafiti, who immigrated from Samoa in 1 963, has a vocal repertoire, ranging from German language classics, light opera, Broadway show tunes, popular ballads and her own South Seas rhythms. She is a graduate of Weber State College and she is teaching her students about her South Seas experience and culture, in conjunction with another teacher at Riverside Elementary, who concentrates on the Hawaiian culture. The objective of each project, content and operation,, general description, timetable, citizen participation, resident employment and budget will all be included.
