Also presented will be a family night concert February 23 series Seven numbers were presented at the Saturdav musical: Prelude to Act in from Lohengrin bv Wagner featuring French horns and brass; Overture from Oberon by von Weber, clarinet and French horn; Beauty and the Beast Conversation by Paver, clarinet (beauty), contra bassoon (beast) and the French horn (prince); Scherzo for a Midsummer Nights Dream by delssohn featuring the flute; Swan Lake introduction and scene by Tschaikovsky harp, violin, cello (performed with an accompanying film strip); Pacific 233 by Honegger, unusual sound effects utilizing all instruments; Finale from Symphony Allegro Moderate by Sibelius (played in recognition of the composer's anniversary 1865). Maestro Abravanel and the Utah Symphony Orchestra are performing a high service to the community by conducting these concerts. The pieces presented are of a high quality and an excellent basis for education in classical music for the young. If children become familiar with and enjoy our better music at an early age they are likely to hear and enjoy it as their tastes mature. Tickets for coming programs are free and may be obtained at any AG or Food Town market.
