Show Bonneville New Quarters Nearly Ready o By RUTH GREENE 277-30- true colors 24 Last week we attended the UEA Convention In the Tabernacle and, of course, every one connected with education was there. But we met Clive Roberts there, he Is principal of the Bonneville Junor High School, under construction at East and 5300 South. They have been holding school 1600 afternoons at Granite Park Junior High School. The teachers and students are getting tired of going to school at 12:30 P.M. and returning at 7 P.M. But getting back to Mr. Roberts, he said There were men crawling all over the new building, but he couldnt see where they had made much progress. Seriously, the class rooms should be completed November 1st and they can move In. The gym and Madltorlum will be a while V npletelng, but they will be one as soon as possible. It seems almost a shame to have to move In before the entire building Is done, but this Is Just like a joke I saw In the NE A magazine once. A man and women were standing In front of a new school building being completed They had ten children ranging In age from the baby buggy to the 6th grade and the caption said, I can't understand why they have to keep building new school buildings. SEEING IS BELIEVING I think there Is something exciting about election years. You can find out the really !Z of a candidate from the way be conducts an election. We can listen and read Cottonwood & all they have to say, but the real way to choose a man Is to see them In person. I mean a man can write anything but you must look at his face while he talks to know If you can believe what he says. Displays At Cottonwood The Cottonwood Heights PTA thought the same thing because on the October 27 at 7:30 P.M. In the Cottonwood Heights School Auditorium, they are having a public meeting. The speakers will Include Mitchell Mellch, Ernest L. Wilkinson from the Republican party and Calvin L. Rampton, Frank E. Moss from the Dem- ocratic party. The meeting will be conducted by DeMar Tus cher, the political writer. Each candidate will talk for ten minutes; a 20 minute question and answer period will follow. The PTA and the candidates hope everyone over 21 will be In attendance. October 9, a beautiful wedding reception was held for Brent Cherrlngton of 1350 Milne Lane and Norma Karras of 1360 Siesta Drive. The reception was held In the East Jordan Stake and I understand the decorations were wonderful.
