The Babe Ruth League baseball tournament Is on deck for next week in Salt Lake and the East Mill Creek League Is the defending champion as well as the host. Eight teams from around the state will compete in this double elimination event beginning Tuesday. Frank Mensel, East Mill Creek league president said that Tuesdays opening round will be played at Murrays American Legion diamond at 250 East Vine Street and will move into Denks field Wednesday for the concluding four rounds. Games are scheduled for 9, and 11:30 A. M. as well as 2 and 4 P.M. The Babe Ruth League is composed of 13 and 14 year old boys this is the only program qualified to stage a tour- nament at Derks field since it is the only one that plays on a full diamond. Entries are being decided this week in district playoffs in northern Utah. The East Mill Creek American League being the host team was a definite entry. Tbacy M aero and Joe Aguirre are its coaches. The winner of the 1964 tournament will represent Utah in 13 state Western regional tournaments at Douglas Arizona in the first week of August. Ogden City takes on tough Jordan Valley in the second game with Granger and Wasatch battling it out for honors in the third test.
