CHALETS FOR MIA A Swiss type village, composed of a central building and six duplex chalets, will be constructed at Brighton In Big Cottonwood Canyon for the Young Womens Mutual Improvement Association of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints. The chalets will replace the Brighton MIA home that burned to the ground January 19, 1963. Sponsored by 23 stakes north of 2700 South, the village has been approved by the Wasatch National Forest which has a 50 -- year lease conon additional land-fo- r struction. The village will be located at the site of the old home on a flat. Each duplex will accommodate 12 girls with an additional apartment for two counselors In each chalet. Buildings will be of the rustic type of concrete and wood. Supervised by the Forest Service, the village plans a central kitchen area, lavatory facilities, showers and a laundry. Salt Lake City architect, John Fetzer of Fetzer and Fetzer, designed the project.
