County Library System Has Eight Locations To Serve Patrons Read any good books lately? youre a resident of Salt Lake County, you probably have, according to Ruth V. Tyler, county librarian. Although the library system has eight major branches, chances are that there is part the county library located uch nearer to you than you think. In addition to these, 290 classes were held at some of the branches by the regulai library staff, and 8,120 children participated in them. BOOKS The bookmobiles make their rounds from 9 in the morning at night every weekday except Thursday, when they start at 1 P.M. in order to stay open till 9 at night. On Saturdays they are cl&aned and refurnished for the next weeks run. Last year the bookmobiles circulated 39,080 pieces of literature. These arent all separate volumes, but include one book each time it is taken ut. ' BUT I THE COSTS How much does all trnS cost? The annual budget last year was low $385,297.41. Quite a bargain for a wide variety of services. Over halt the budget goes for salaries and other personnel costs. Other big expenditures costs are for new books, binding and rebinding, and visual aids.
