High School, Provo, Utah, iraaHnnaitiaimg Osnss Last Will and Testament We the Seniors of the 1946 graduating class do hereby bequeath all headaches and troubles to the class of 1947. We sincerely hope that each student will benefit from these, our last bequests. The faculty is being honored by being granted Jim Allens liquor permit. Elaine Allred is leaving her techniques to Joanna Hobbs, who learned a lot at play rehearsals. Clair is leaving the sophomores to the sophomores. La Dean leaves with Eddie. Jim Baird is handed down Freds car, because he isnt quite 21 yet either. Clinton Ashworth leaves for higher education and fewer women. Elaine Carlson is bestowed Lynette Bennions shy, quiet thoughts. Bari leaves for the Army, we fear. Joe Smith is offered Randa Bentwets hair. Innis presents her sweet ways to J. C. Bement. Leora Behrman leaves Calders with College men. Vol. 3 118)4 Commencement Is Held At the annual commencement exercises held Thursday evening, May 23, in the Joseph Smith auditorium, 63 seniors of the Brigham Young UniSchool received versity High diplomas. Gloria Dawn Jensen was honored as class valedictorian. She has maintained a very enviable record among her scholastic activities, and has been outstanding in club and student body activities. At the Crossroads, the theme of the commencement program, was developed by one of the most representative classes ever to leave the school. The opening address was given by Malin Perry, class president Miss Jensen also addressed the group. The program included slxch numbers as the male quartet, composed of Eire Steinekert, Robert Morgan, El Ray Richins, and Malin Perry; an original musical reading by Elaine Colleen Allred and Harmon; and instrumental solos by Clara Borgeson Lola Fay Scott, Colleen Harmon, and Marilynn Whitesides. The comaddress was Dr. Amos mencement N. Merrill, professor-emeritu- s given by of education, and retiring dean of the college of education of the B.Y.U. Dr. G. L. Woolf, principal of the high school, presented the graduates, and diplomas .were awarded by President Howard S. McDonald of the Brigham Young University. Music during the processional and recessional was furnished by transcription. |
