Show THE UINTAH BASIN FARMER R VIC December 1, 1927. Associated Beehive Seed Growers Of The Uintah Basin THIS YEAR OE 1927 Although many seed crops have failed in this year of 1927, a great many growers have produced large crops of good seed. Present indications are that the 1927 crop is larger than the crop of 1926. Threshing is e almost over now and we can count more seed among growers than last season Bee-Hiv- A big part of this stuff is mighty good seed too when we think of the season. Fields that were free from weeds and in which seed set on and ripened evenly have produced excellent seed. Many of these crops have been well cleaned in threshing so that this seed has figured up to very high dirt prices Several other crops that did not set on early or ripen evenly show a big variation in the size and color of the seed. If this seed is weedy a considerable part of the seed is bound to come out with the weeds so that there is a large proportion of low grade seed and poor screenings. This seed was hard to clean in threshing too, so it is likely to contain a lot of stuff no-val- ue We are finding it necessary to clean some of these crops two or three times in order to get reasonably good qualities for shipment r We are extremely busy in our plants and offices these days cleaning and bulking seed for shipment. A big part of our job in the Basin is to prepare stuff for market and get it to the terminal market places in plenty of time to be sold and distributed Our Open Market Remain The Same No. 1. No. 2.
