Layton store r Roy Dedicates City Hall SHELLEY KANCITIS Review Correspondent ROY More than 500 Roy residents along with state and local dignitaries, musical groups and beauty queens helped dedicate the new Roy Municipal Center. Opened a week ago, the buildings bright and airy interior appeared to delight residents who were used to entering the citys former cramped quarters. Comments from long time Roy residents Clyde Gibson, a former fire chief and his wife, Madge, a former city recorder, were typical. Its beautiful. Theres room to grow and its centrally located. Weve needed a new facility for many years. I think its one of the best things thats happened to Roy. When asked what he liked best about the new facilities, a Roy City fireman summed up the feelings of many employees. Spreading his arms straight out, he smiled and said, All the room. Formal dedication ceremonies emceed by the dedication committee chairman, Councilman Richard Ulibarri, included reflections on Roys past by former Mayor Joseph Dawson, who is credited with being the visionary force behind construction of the new center. My heart is full to see a dream fulfilled here. Many times I stood out on the hill where the city building stands now, looked fill I I I over the area, and thought what a beautiful location, said Dawson. Following speeches by Roy City Manager Richard Kirkwood and Mayor Jack Pierce, a photograph album showing the buildings development was presented to the city by Orlen Karras, the only charter member of Roys fire department still on duty. As Mayor Pierce said in his speech, It was a red letter day for Roy. Denture Problems?? RELINE SPECIAL 1 & with this .
