Show H Clearfield T o Study BARRY KAWA Lakeside Review North, Wednesday, Aug. 31, 1983 V'sN ' CLEARFIELD - Water pressure problems in some areas of Clearfield are being studied for possible solutions; says City Engineer Ron Smith. Smith told the City Council last week that problems still exist on Terrace Drive, Airlane Drive near Hill Air Force Base and from 250 West to 750 West. Smith said residents water pressure problems on 300 North near Kiwanis Park have been alleviated with the watering of the park after 10:30 p.m. The City Council is considering a proposal from City Manager Gayle Starks that the city purchase a $5,000 computer monitored au- tomatic sprinkling system for the park which would save on labor costs of manual watering. IT5Mfl33ML jJQDiSXEl Clearfield City currently pumps its water supply from tanks located in three different areas. An estimated 7.3 million gallons are available from three tanks near 700 South; another 300,000 gallons are available from a Freeport Center site, and a small amount from a 3.5 million gallon tank at Hill. The council expressed surprise at Smiths figures that Clearfield only owns about a share of the Hill Field tank, with Sunset City owning of it. I was under the impression for years that we owned that tank, Councilman Wayne O. Thornock said. ; Im concerned about the figures I hear now, said Mayor Neldon E. Hamblin. When I talked with Mayor Sant (of Sunset), he gave the impression that we owned it. If he knew he owned of it, hed fence a around it. probably put Smith said attempting to purchase more of the tank would be like buying a dead horse because of all the cities that own a part of it. Possible solutions being studied by the city are the building of a million gallon water tank oh 1000 East and the buildwater line ing of an eight-inc- h near the Union Pacific overpass on 1000 West that is currently CEDAR BOARDS exterior usage. Give Police Name With Phone Call 88 South SOUTH WEBER Weber residents urged to cooperate with the police when reporting an incident, a representative of the Davis County JSheriff s Department siated in a monthly police report. In South Weber we have a problem with persons phoning in a complaint who will not divulge their name. The sheriffs department cannot send an officer to investigate a report without a name and address of the person calling, a county deputy told the city council. The citizens have no reason fear to helping the sheriffs department to prevent crime in our city, said councilman Jeff Monroe. The sheriffs department assured the council it will not release names or implicate residents in the problem in any way. The names of those making reports are strictly confidential police information for proper record keeping. 200. each. ; . SPRED ENAMEL s Dries to a WEATHERSCREEN 10' piece. 3700.
