Do these vehicles pollute the air counties. I would like to know what the environmental agency proposes to do about the vehicles coming in to Salt Lake and Davis counties from surrounding counties to work in Salt Lake and Davis counties. I know for a fact that more than 1500 vehicles come into Davis County from Weber County to Hill Air Force Base in Davis County . . . dont these vehicles pollute the air as much as Davis County vehicles? less than Salt Lake County vehicles. Furthermore arent the funds that are threatened for the whole state of Utah. I could see the idea of the environmental agency if the funds were solely for the Davis and Salt Lake counties, but if the funds encompass the whole state then the whole state should be involved in the Clean Air Act. I am all for having clean air but I am also for laws, that are fair and just and I think that the Environmental Protection Agency is being discriminatory, unfair and unconstitutional. I think that the whole Wasatch Front from Brigham City to Utah County should be required to come under this law if the environmental agency is indeed interested in clean air standards for the State of Utah, otherwise I think that the Environmental Protection Agency and the federal government is just being unfair and prejudiced against Salt Lake and Davis counties. I would like to know what the Environmental Protection Agency and the federal government propose to do about the greatest air polluters in the State of Utah which are, Geneva Steel Works in Utah County, the Salt Lake International Airport, Hill Air Force Base and Kennecott Copper Corporation. f Is their input into air pollution more beneficial to our health than the pollu tion put out by highway vehicles. Prove to me and the people of Salt Lake and Davis county that we are the only air polluters in the state and I will believe the good intentions of the Environmental Protection Agency and the federal government concerning the clean air standards for the State of Utah. I think that designating two counties of the State of Utah as responsible for jthe air pollution within the state is both absurd and unthinkable for a government and an agency of our government in this day and age. I can see this kind of treatment for a designated few in a communist nation such as Russia but not in our great country which is supposed to be known for its fairness and love of justice. Pete E.
