Show t Lakeside Review North, Wednesday, Aug. 10, 1983 41 j i Executives Association Elects, Honors Three Men The Federal Executives Association of Utah has named recipients of its 1983 Distinguished Service Awards, and announced the election of its new officer. The Distinguished Service Award, based on outstanding leadership and accomplishments, contributions to the community welfare, and Success in the federal service is divided into two categories, the Junior Award for executives under the age of 35 and the Senior Award for those over 35. Kathy Wood Loveless, regional public affairs officer for the Bureau of Reclamation, received the Junior Award;, Dennis Chugg, logistics management specialist for the Directorate of Material Management, Hill Air Force Base, received the Senior Award; and Richard P. Bell, deputy director, Department of Housing and Urban Development, was elected president of FEA. Loveless has been with the Department of the Interiors Bu-- reau of Reclamation for 12 years, most of that time in Washington, D.C., where she served as editor of the national magazine, Reclamation Era. Chugg, of Roy, began his fed- eral career in 1957 as a security guard at Hill Air Force Base. Bell, of Fruit Heights, has been with the U.S, Department of Housing and Urban Development for the past 12 years. He holds a bachelors degree in economics and a master of business administration degree from the University of Utah where he graduated in 1969. He came to the federal government from Douglas-UniteNuclear, Inc., of Richland, Wash., where he was in finance operations. Presently he serves as president of the City Planning Commission in Fruit Heights where he and his wife, Julie, and their three children reside. Bell notes that the FEA is a vehicle for which managers and professionals of many Federal agencies may exchange ideas and practices that will improve gov- d ernment efficiency and communication and will strengthen the image of Federal employees. The FEA has a special challenge at the present time, says Bell. There have been many attacks made on Federal employees and it is essential that the public understand the commitment and dedication of these good men and women who serve he said. as Federal employees, Douglas Wadsworth was elected FEAs second vice-preside- Wadsworth presently serves as Director of the Regional Veterans Administration in Salt Lake City, a position he has held for the past 13 months. Francis T. (Frank) Holt was named treasurer of the FEA. In serving his community Chugg chairs the Roy City Com- center munity Improvement Program and the Weber County Solid ; Waste Board. Additonally, he serves on the Roy City Council, the Roy City Board of Adjustments, and the Board of Directors of the United Way of Utah.
