Michael Carmon Montoya, 29, was sentenced in 7th District Court after a plea bargaining arrangement where he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of attempted burglary of a dwelling, a third degree felony. He was originally of with charged a dwelling, a second burglary degree felony. Montoya committed the Following his escape, a warrant for his arrest was issued by District Court Judge Boyd Bunnell. He was arrested in Price in September 1983 and booked into the Carbon County burglary on Feb. 6, 1981 and was arrested a short time later. Following his preliminary hearing in 11th Circuit Court, a diversion agreement was made in 7th District Court where Montoya agreed to enter the drug rehabilitation program at Odyssey House in Salt Lake City. The burglary charge would have been dropped in exchange for his abiding by the agreement for one year. Montoya walked away from Odyssey house after he had been there about 30 days, however. Jail. He later escaped from the jail and was not recaptured until April of this year when he was taken into custody under an assumed name for another violation in Salt Lake City. Searchers find mudslide victim The body of a Price man who was killed in a mudslide near Tooele was recovered around noon on Wednesday, according to a spokesman for Atlantic Richfield Co. Efforts to recover the body of Kenneth Forsgren, 30, who was buried in a mudslide May 14, resumed Wednesday morning after being suspended on May 17 because of the danger to recovery crews, said Harold Craige, a spokesman for Atlantic Richfield. Forsgrens body was recovered at 12:15 p.m. and turned over to the Tooele County Sheriffs Office to be taken to the Utah State Medical Examiners office in Salt Lake City, according to Craige.
