Show Chamber of Commerce Edition, March 19847 Meet 1 984 Board of Governors Darrel Cooper Dave Lauriski Membership Chairman The membership in any organization is the life blood of that organization. And so it is with the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce. At present we have about 225 members. Those members come from the business community, industry and professional people. Our goal for 1984 is to have 300 members this year. We will hold our annual Radio Day and Membership Drive on March 20. We will have Chamber members acting as deejays and they will report on events of the chamber and what our goals are for this year. We will have members contacting businesses that do not belong to the Chamber to solicite new members. The Chamber is a vital and growing organization in this area. It is here for the benefit of all of us. If you are not now a member and wish to find out more about the Chamber, Darrel Cooper, Chairman contact any current member or call the Chamber office at 637-278- 8. Darrel L. This file will be a listing of all the available empty buildings and spaces in the county. We are designing a form that the owners will be asked to fill out that list size, utilities, land space and other pertinent information. If you have such a property, please call the Chamber office and a form will be mailed out to you. We will not be acting as a realtor, merely an information center, whose main purpose is letting the buyer know whats available. In May, the Chamber will cohost a number of Industrial Development Directors on a sightseeing tour through Southeastern Utah. The other are the chambers from Emery County, Grand County and San Juan County. Many cities and counties spend thousands of dollars on such programs and it is a tough field to compete in, but we are going to give it our best shot and with this determination and support of the community, we will succeed. In the near future, a committee comprised of Chamber, cities and county representatives will hold meetings to formulate plans and to determine which type of industry is compatible with our area and start making con- tacts.
