The contest is sponsored by the College of Eastern Utah and the Rocky Mountain Mine Rescue Association. It will be held on the CEU campus. There are approximately 150 participants in the three contests. These underground coal miners will be representing the coal industry of Utah, Colorado and other western states. Wilcox, 76, died July 31, 1982 at his home of heart failure. He was born March 24, 1906 in Fielding, Utah, a son of Ebenezer O. and Iva Bell Lowry Wilcox. He married Donna Hess on Aug. 22, 1941 in Malad, Idaho. They were later divorced. He married Alberta Hurd Cox on May 3, 1960 in Ogden. She survives. He had worked in industrial maintenance at Hill Air Force Base, retiring in 1970. Annie Colosimo Annie Colosimo, 66, Price, died Aug. 3, 1982 in Castleview Hospital. She was born Oct. 22, 1915 in Fairmont, W.V., to Carmen T. and Katherine Oliverio Colosimo. She attended school in Emery County and was very active in senior citizens programs. She was a member of the Catholic Church. Survivors include one brother, Louis Colosimo, Price; three sisters, Minnie Lupo and Mary Colosimo, both of Price, and Rose Jackson, Detroit, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Notre Dame delxiurdes Catholic Church in Price. Holy rosary was at 7 p.m. Thursday at Mitchell Funeral Home. Friends may call one hour prior to Mass Friday at the church. Burial will be in Price City Cemetery. Sherman R. Jensen Sherman Robert Jensen Sr., Clear Creek, died Aug. 3, 1982 at his daughters home here following a long illness. He was born July 16, 1905 in Clear Creek, Utah, to Christian Kimball and Louetta Davis Jensen. He married Janet Gordon June 5, 1928 in Price. She died Sept. 10,1964. A retired coal miner, he had worked at the Clear Creek Coal Mine for 50 years. He was a member of Saints. the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y He had lived with his family in Salt Lake City the past 13 years. He loved hunting, fishing and sports. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Keith (Janice) Hardy, Salt Lake City; one son, Bob Jensen Jr., Salt Lake City; four grandchildren, Shane, Kim, Layne and Cindy; one sister, Mrs. Marion Edmiston, Wheatland, Calif.; and one brother, Oliver B. Jensen, Springville. Funeral services will be at noon Saturday in the Center Third LDS Ward chapel, 1900 W. 400 North, Salt Lake City. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Deseret Mortuary, 36 E. 700 South, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Spanish Fork Cemetery. SALT LAKE CITY 77, Volunteer receives award Pam Mason, volunteer coordinator for Eastern Utah Families in Crisis, was recently awarded a certificate of recognition by Utah Field Services for her dedication to the womens shelter. The shelter provides a safe place for abused women and their children to live until other accommodations can be found. Ms. Mason, 28, Price, said they help the disoriented woman find employment and receive necessary schooling so they may support themselves and their children. The shelter is manned by a staff of dedicated volunteers who do anything from Volunteers run the shelter to include Lena Marquez, LuAnn Ross, Mike Phelps, Elena Byrge, Debbie Noone, Jo Black, Michelle Cuburu, Willie Habi, Marine Quist, Nancy Martin, Clara Rutherford, Jeanna Austin and Charlene OToole. He was born May 18, 1945 in Kankakee, 111., to Cleo Delbert and Ann Philomene Brouillette Hopper. He was a member of the Miller Creek water board and operated Hopper Repair Shop. He married Kathy Livingston on Nov. 2, 1972 in Las Vegas, Nev. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. She survives. Other survivors include two sons and two daughters, Ryan Christian, Jayvin Shane and Brittainey Dawnne, all of Miller Creek, and Shonete Lynn, Red Bluff, Calif. ; parents, Arcadia, Calif.; three brothers, Larold, Joseph and Gregory; and one sister, Madonna. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Wellington Third Ward LDS Chapel.
